Wanted to give this a shot to document some personal art.  I don't know much about blogging nor have I done it before so it should be nice and rocky. :)

I'm always inspired to create new personal stuff, and because of that I often have quite a few projects in the works.  This year its my goal to finish more rather then keep starting stuff and never letting it see the light of day.  This is one I'm wrapping up now...

Its Metroid fan art.  I wanted to create a more realistic Samus.  The goal is to render and paintover a single image (or possibly 2 images) and treat this more as concept art.  I'm taking the Sculpt a bit further then I planned mostly because I'm having fun with it.  Here is where I am at.  I want to polish up a few more areas and create a helmet which will be on the ground cracked or something.

Grabbed a bunch of references and did a super rough sketch to get the basic idea down before concepting in zbrush.  Here is that sketch:
